Some Past Tours

Diamond Head Theatre

Artistic Director John Rampage (front, kneeling) led us on a tour of the theatre and answered questions. We viewed past stage settings and the impressive costume department, the largest on the Island.

Newcomers learned about crafting koa furniture when they toured the Martin & MacArthur facility.

We learned about the Pacific Aviation Museum history and collection from Newcomer docents.

At the Ali'i Kualoa Nursery & Gardens, we visited fields of tropical flowers, fruit trees and gardens, and learned about the agricultural practices of early Hawaiians.
On our Kualoa Ranch Movie Sites Tour, the "adventure bus" took Newcomers into Ka'a'awa Valley where Jurassic Park and Lost were filmed.

At the Hawaii Bonsai Culture Center, we were introduced to bonsai, viewed a live demo, and toured their extensive collection.
In Chinatown, we toured the historic Hawaii Theatre, learned about Chinatown's history and took a walking tour.

John A. Burns School of Medicine
Newcomers received background information on the school's layout, architecture and history and then toured the Clinical Skills Center and the Simulation Lab. The Simulation Lab features robot patients and high-tech computer surgical simulators.
